Belgian Cuisine
There is so much more to Belgian cuisine than just waffles, frites and chocolate. Over the years and even centuries, Belgian cuisine has been strongly influenced by neighbouring countries of which France has had the largest impact. Belgian dishes are made with French finess but use mostly local and seasonal ingredients. And even though Belgian is the size of a handkerchief, there is a wide variety of very regional foods and dishes.
This section with Belgian recipes combines both traditional Belgian dishes as well as recipes I have created myself but that do not fit in a specific region or cuisine. And since I’m born and raised in Belgium, I have rated these as Belgian recipes.
